Phonominal guide could not have asked for better
Michael was an excellent guide. His English was really proficient making for an informative exchange in such an historically-rich city. The acropolis, which we were visiiting for the first time since 1968, was exhilirating, even with the huge crowds present. Michael knowledge of the area steered us through the crowds and gained us the best viewing angles for photos. In 1968 we walked freely through the Parthenon, not so now. Michael, with Manos the driver, took us to far more places and sights than we had previously seen and we are most grateful.
Theo was an incredible guide. As the pandemic has hit the tourism industry hard, it was only the two of us but he brought so much enthusiasm and expert knowledge to the tour. He clearly loves his city and I do too now! We walked around quirky neighbourhoods, admiring incredible street art, refreshments in a hidden garden bar, snacks in a taverna and learnt a lot about Athens’ struggle from economic crisis to regeneration. One of the best urban adventures tours I’ve done :)
Very nice walking tour - starting with some explanations on ancient sites around the Agora and finishing with the « Rebellion » quarter of Athens, where graffiti is still a political rather than an artistic expression. Pleasant stopover in a small street café in the middle of the tour. We have come many times to Athens before, but discovered some new areas thanks to the tour.
The Alternative Neighborhoods walking tour was informative!
This tour offered historical sites, up & coming neighborhoods, and a cultural look at graffiti. A stop for Greek coffee offered us more time to ask questions and take a short break. Both the guide & accompanying archaeologist were informative.
I was happily surprised to discover a more artistic side of Athens which I wouldn’t have uncovered on my own. Ask for Vicky as a guide as she was exceptional!
