Full description
This half-day tour will show you the very best of Panama City as well as the world-famous Panama Canal. Your guide will pick you up at your Panama City hotel, after which you will travel for 30 minutes to the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal to see the huge vessels passing the famous Canal that connects the Pacific with the Atlantic Ocean. Your tour is timed to ensure you see the Canal during the busiest hours to witness the countless ships being lifted or lowered 16 meters in two distinct steps. You will enjoy the view on the Locks from a sheltered terrace and listen to the expert commentary of your guide. To complete the visit of the Canal you will visit the Museum and Visitor Center at Miraflores. After the visit to the Canal you continue with your guide to the Amador Causeway, a road that connects three Islands in the Pacific Ocean, offering magnificent views of the Canal on one side and the skyline of Panama City on the other. The tour then continues to the Casco Antiguo, Panama City’s colonial quarter. Here it will be like going back in time as you admire the lovely colonial houses, the narrow roads and the impressive churches. The Casco Antiguo is a quiet, charming district of narrow streets covered in flower decorated balconies from the two and three-story houses. In the Casco Antiguo you will visit some important monuments, buildings, superb museums and churches. You will be able to immerse yourself in Panama’s unique history by driving or walking through the main attractions of this quarter. At the conclusion of your tour you will be returned to your Panama City hotel.

Jazz provided an excellent tour! He made sure he got us to the canal to see a ship pass through the Miraflores locks. He provided a great deal of information about Panama history and general information and was a most helpful tour guide. Highly recommend this tour and tour guide!!

We had a fabulous day from seeing the canal to the causeway. Vincent (our tour guide) was extremely informative with outstanding knowledge of the city. He was a true gentleman, showing us an amazing slice of Panama City in what felt like a very relaxed, no rush time schedule. We highly recommend this tour and you definitely need to request Vincent as he is the bomb!!

The half-day tour was well planned and we were given the VIP treatment. Our guide was really knowledgeable - even to my boyfriend's sometimes off-beat questions about Panama! Everything was coordinated so that we could really take-in the tour and we were neither rushed nor crowded. A great experience and would recommend.
