In mid December we toured with Richard. He was extremely willing to take us wherever we wanted to go. and we went to Casco Viejo, Bio Museo, a mirador overlooking the Bridge of Americas, Balboa, Goethals Monument, stopped to photograph the screw shaped skyscraper, and down a not well-known path to see 2 lighthouses with egrets and pelicans on the shore near by. He picked us up from the big wnite Vida Bella sign about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride from the cruise port on Flamenco Island/Pericho Island. He was personable and knowledgeable. It truly was a custom tour and very worth it.

Explore the Panama City area with a private tour that takes you to the places of particular interest to you. Choose from a range of attractions, including the Miraflores Locks, and enjoy the flexibility to explore at your own pace. Don't know if you'll need more than 4 and a half hours? When you do just tell customer service and we will arrange your payment with cash or creditcard at a cost of $25.00 x extra hour. You can start your tour with a visit to the Miraflores Locks, where you can learn about the Panama Canal. Then, head to the Bridge of the Americas, which connects North and South America. Continue to the Panama Canal Administration Building and the town of Balboa or Panama La Vieja. Admire the modern architecture, which is mixed with classic colonial Spanish, British, and French influences. Next, visit Ancon Hill, the Amador Causeway, and the Panama Sign on Flamenco Island. Take a walk in the areas that interest you and keep an eye out for exotic flora and fauna.

Know before you go

  • Note: Panama City cruise port pick ups take place on Perico Island by the "LA VIDA BELLA" sign next to the kiosks by Beirut restaurant.
  • Miraflores Locks, Panama Viejo and Veracruz beach are at opposite ends of the city limits therefore you may go over 4 hours, when these are combined or exceed "4 and a half hours", expect to pay $25.00 per extra hour as overtime fee.

Our driver/tour guide, Richard, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable of Panama sites and history. He picked us up on time and was very accommodating, offering suggestions on other ways for us to spend our time. He even brought us to a great lunch place on the beach in Veracruz where we were able to enjoy a great Panamanian meal. I would highly recommend Richard and the tour he provided us - The Canal and lunch in Veracruz.
