From top to bottom the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway delivers a scenic and educational journey. The 10-minute, 2.5-mile ride begins at the Valley Station - elevation 2,643 feet, and ends at the Mountain Station - elevation 8,516 feet. In the winter, visitors can cross-country ski or snowshoe. Rental equipment is available at the Adventure Center, snow conditions permitting. During the summer months, camping, hiking and guided nature walks are available. Also at the top is Peaks Restaurant or Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant, spectacular views, gift shop, a Natural History Museum and 2 documentary-style movies on the history of the Tramway and on the Mt. San Jacinto State Park.
