Spend a day exploring West Sicily on a tour from Palermo. Stop in the towns of Segesta, Nubia, Paceco, Marsala, and Erice, for sightseeing and admiring the beauty of the countryside. Enjoy a tour of a local winery and taste 3 wines on an outdoor terrace.
What to Expect
Travel from Palermo on a full-day private tour of 4 unique spots across West Sicily, along with a wine tasting.
First head to Segesta, situated among gently sloping hills of yellow-ochre and ruddy brown. The town was probably founded by Elimians; under Greek sponsorship, it soon ranked among the leading towns of the Mediterranean basin. An ancient Doric temple still presides over the timeless landscape.
Continue to Nubia, an area comprising the Salt Pans of Trapani and Paceco and characterized by lagoons and marshes with shallow water. Visit the local salt museum, and then, after driving down a country road, stop in the area around Marsala at a famous winery. Here you will take a tour and taste three local wines on a charming Sicilian terrace.
Finally, make your way to Erice, located on top of Mount Erice and overlooking the city of Trapani. Here you can look out upon the northwestern coast of Sicily and take in the spectacular views.
