Meet your guide and set off on your guided food-tasting adventure in the heart of the Old Town. Pass and learn about historical landmarks, including Opera dei Pupi (traditional puppet theater), Piazza Beati Paoli, the Cathedral, the Quattro Canti, and the Pretoria fountain. Walk through the bustling Capo Street Market, which serves up a wide selection of local meats, seafood, produce, and Sicilian bites. Tuck into some sfincione (dough topped with onion, bread crumbs, tomato, and oregano), panelle (fried chickpea flour), crocché (potato croquettes), arancine (rice croquettes stuffed with meat or butter), and cannolo (crunchy shell with sweet cheese).

Meet in Piazza Olivella, in front of the entrance of the Salinas Archeological Museum, 100 meters from the Massimo Theater. For cruise passengers, the meeting point is at 10 AM inside the port, just outside the cruise terminal (only on request).

  • A minimum of 2 adults is required for each free child
  • For cruise passengers, there is a pick-up service at 10 AM inside the port, just outside the cruise terminal. Please send a message to the tour guide to request the pickup. If your cruise ship arrives later, an alternative pickup time can be organized
  • Cruise ship drop-off is not included. The place where the tour ends is just 20 minutes away from the port. Where the tour ends there is a taxi rank
  • A dress code is required to visit the cathedral. Men cannot wear shorts and tank tops, and women cannot wear shorts, miniskirts, and tops
  • Bermuda shorts and T-shirts are allowed
  • At the entrance of the cathedral, you can buy a light jacket (1€) to cover your shoulders and legs

I really enjoyed the tour. our guide was excellent, giving lots of information, both historical and of life today in Palermo. all this sprinkled with funny anecdotes. There was a lot of consideration for those on the tour e.g. finding places in the shade, toilet breaks etc. The food tasting was excellent, with descriptions of how dishes were cooked and other details. A great tour to take at the beginning of your stay as you will find that it will orientate you to the city and where you might like to spend time during your stay. Well done to all involved in making this a great tour.
