1. Christmas in Paris: The Champs Elysées & the Arc de Triomphe

Join an expert local guide and discover the magic of the holiday season in Paris. Your guide will take you to the Champs Elysées, one of the world’s most famous streets, lit up every year to celebrate the holiday season. The switching on of the Christmas lights on the Champs Elysées signals to everyone in France that the holiday season has begun, and it’s here that Parisians gather on 31 December to see in the New Year. Pass by the Elysée Palace where the French President lives, and see iconic sites such as the Lido cabaret, and the famous Fouquet's restaurant, where you can perhaps indulge in some French celebrity spotting! We’ll stop at the celebrated patissier Ladurée, where you will be treated to delicious French macarons from their delightful pastry store and tearoom. What better way to see the Christmas lights across Paris than from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, one of the most famous monuments in the city? Built by Napoleon Bonaparte to celebrate his great military victories, the terrace on the top offers some of the best views over the city. Your guide will explain the history and significance of this magnificent monument, before providing you with skip the line tickets to ascend to the top. Admire the sparkling Champs Elysées laid out at your feet and enjoy the breathtaking views of the dazzling Eiffel Tower shimmering nearby.

Paris Illuminated Walking Tour in Spanish

2. Paris Illuminated Walking Tour in Spanish

Paris is known as the "City of Lights" for being the first city to provide its streets and buildings with street lighting. However, it makes just as much sense to call it the City of Lights because of the way it looks when it's illuminated at dusk. The tour begins at the Opera Garnier. See some of the main monuments and sites of Paris with beautiful illuminations of the city such as the Madeleine, an impressive church similar to Roman-style architecture; the Champs Elysees, one of the most important avenues in Paris; and the Elysee Palace, the seat of the presidency of the French Republic. Discover the monumental surroundings of the Grand Palace of Paris, the Petit Palais, the Pont Alexandre Ill, and the National Palace of the Invalides, which is where the remains of Napoleon are found. The tour ends at the beautiful Soul Bridge, which crosses the Seine River. Choose to include a boat trip on the Seine when booking to complete your experience.

Isabel was wonderful. She knew her history well and was very personable. We were a bit late but she wasn’t at all bothered by that. We walked along Champs Elysee as she gave us all kinds of history and fun facts. She was great with our girls too! There was a little hiccup with the Laudree but she made it work. Would gladly book again if we ever return to Paris.
