What people are saying about Palace of Knossos
Overall rating
We were so lucky to have Spyros as our guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable about not only the the focal points of the tour, but also of the island, its agriculture, and the people. He answered all of our questions kindly and thoroughly. We never felt rushed. My friend and I also have frequent motion sickness and were surprised at the end of the tour to realize we hadn’t needed medication because the driving was so smooth with enough breaks to be comfortable. I also was injured prior to the tour, and he was so kind in helping me navigate getting help and finding an open pharmacy on a Sunday. We were so lucky and would happily recommend this tour with Spyros to anyone that wants to learn more about Crete and this area.
If you're planning to explore Crete, do it right – with a private driver. And if you're lucky, that driver will be Emanuel. Riding in his beautifully maintained vintage Mercedes (yes, it has air conditioning!) was an absolute highlight of our trip. Emanuel is kind, polite, and full of fascinating stories about life on the island. We learned so much, not just about the places we visited, but also about local traditions and everyday Cretan life. The cherry on top? His nostalgic blues playlist that set the perfect mood for the journey. A unique, relaxed, and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!
This was our second trip with Emanuel, and once again – pure magic. Some experiences sparkle, but this one truly shines like a diamond. And as the saying goes: diamonds are forever. Emanuel is more than just a driver – he’s a storyteller, a gentleman, and a true ambassador of Cretan spirit. Cruising through the island in his timeless Mercedes Oldtimer, with the soft blues soundtrack in the background, felt like being in a movie. If you're looking for an authentic, stylish, and unforgettable way to experience Crete – look no further. Emanuel is a rare gem.
Would recommend going as early as possible as it gets very warm (of course) and busy. We arrived at 9am and by the time we were leaving around an hour later it was very very busy with guided tours.
Tour guide was excellent! Really enjoyed the tour, the history, the mythology, and how the guide wrapped it all together! Truly amazing experience - highly recommended!!
