What people are saying about Paihia

This was definitely our best day whilst travelling North island. Linford our boat captain and tour guide must absolutely love his job to be so cheerful all day. He had great interesting knowledge of the area and the history. He explained everything as we travelled, stopping at the key locations. Nothing was rushed and we landed on two islands. A walk to an amazing lookout on the first island with tea and cookies to return to. Then 90 minutes on the second island where everyone could do their own thing. Linford supplied paddle boards, snorkels and masks for us to enjoy the secluded and calm cove. He told us about the local sea life and he collected sea urchins for us to taste the roe. It turned out to be very tasty and creamy. On the way back to Paihia Linford even spotted some penguins bobbing about and stopped for us to view them. The Bay of Islands is a beautiful area and if you are lucky enough to visit DO NOT miss this 5 hour tour. Thank you Linford.

It was a long day, and the bus driver was great. It was amazing how he could maneuver that huge bus on those winding roads while also offering running commentary. I had a little trouble understanding theNew Zealand accent through the sound system, but that is not his fault. The ride down the beach at low tide was cool, and the opportunity to try sand surfing was a challenge. It was a lovely day to see Cape Reinga as well. The barbecue was just okay—steak precooked and a bit stringy—but sides were fine, and it gave us a chance to see what the locals do.

Fantastic experience! Unfortunately due to weather we were unable to visit the Hole in Rock. However the crew accommodated and I appreciate the decision you made in order to keep us safe. The captain Teina made it a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery, insightful commentary and a great full value for money. Highly recommend!

Our original booking was cancelled due to problems with the boat. Staff from the local company called us on our cruise and upgraded us to another trip on the same day. The staff were fantastic and could not have done anymore to help us. We had a great time.

Totally fantastic experience. Saw lots of dolphins, cruised through the Hole in the Rock, scenery was amazing, staff were awesome, just a fantastic afternoon in The Bay of Islands. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
