We absolutely loved this activity and will definitely do it again when we return, the tour was fun, the guide was amazing and the fast boat meant that we were able to glide over the bumps with ease and the suspension seats were definitely a blessing. We were on a cruise so we did the 10am and this left us plenty of time to check out the markets and the incredible bakery. Our friends who did the 4.5 hour trip all came back a little queezy and were not able to pass through the hole due to the conditions. We were able to get through the hole and go quite some way in to the cathedral caves which were breathtaking. We highly recommend this tour. Definitely use the spray jacket provided and don’t forget your sunscreen and sunglasses. We cannot wait to get back to Bay of Islands to do it all again. Our teenagers told us that this was the highlight of their entire trip.

The trip itself going out to the Rock was amazing. Everyone on the boat was very upset that this young man who was a fabulous driver, had the music up so incredibly loud with absolutely horrible music, I guess for his young age group, that no one could hear themselves think!!!!!!!! I could not even talk to my husband about how beautiful it was. Also we could barely understand what he was trying to tell us since his microphone really did not work. That is not his fault. But I personally would never recommend this someone because of the extremely loud music. Could have been the most wonderful trip.

So great. The boat was very cool. We were able to sit in the front row of the boat. We got splashed by spray, but not soaked. The skipper navigated waves like a champion, so that it was not too rough. Interesting commentary. Great friendly staff at check-in.
