Explore one of the most popular tourist destinations on New Zealand's North Island the way it's meant to be enjoyed – from the water. See golden beaches, secluded coves, and colorful fish on this boat tour. The tour leaves from the Main Wharf in Paihia and takes you to the Hole in the Rock. If weather conditions allow, your captain will take you right through this natural tunnel. Admire the views in Deep Water Cove and sail through the Okahu Passage. The last stop is at Otehei Bay where the boat's floor is lifted to reveal the blue water below. Feed the fish and admire them through the boat's glass floor.

The trip on the glass-bottom boat was excellent. There were only 4 other passengers and we had a smooth trip to and through the Hole in the Rock. We then went to Otehei Bay where we fed the fish and observed through the glass bottom. A memorable morning out.

Seeing the fish was our main interest when booking the trip. The skipper Jeff, whom we had met on Waikaramoana in 2011, drove the boat very well all the way to the Hole in the Rock and through it. That part we found very exciting and adventurous. The two small children on the boat loved seeing the fish when stopped at the island. The history of the island is intriguing and Jeff made a good job telling us about that. We oldies found seeing some snappers eating the breadcrumbs a little disappointing; the cormorants chasing them underneath the boat was the most interesting part.

Easy to book. Had good weather so we were able to go through the hole in the rock. Water colour was beautiful. Skipper was informative. Beautiful new boat. Stopped at a bay and the floor was lifted sow lots of fish as well as a Commorant swimming under the boat
