Get to know Canyon X in Antelope Canyon with a guide.

Located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, Ari. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years' worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon.

Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two.

Canyon X is a mixture of the characteristics of both the Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper's feature of pillars of light and the Lower's steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two and brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

Everyone we met through this experience was amazing! Our tour guide, Vangie, was passionate, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout our tour/hike. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history of the Canyon and about the Navajo people. The tour was breathtaking. My kids have a deeper respect for the Navajo Nation, which was also a goal of mine. The guides were especially helpful in assisting my 80-year old mom, who needed some help returning to the bus site on an extreme heat warning day. Please make sure to bring cash to tip your guides. Can't wait to return and tour again in the future. Only downside was not getting the early time that our party reserved due to tour times not being an exact match with this app at the point of reservation (and my mom really needed the earliest time).

We really enjoyed this excursion. You do have to realize the time zones to be on time! It was an amazing experience. One thing , though is the hike down and up. We are 72 years old and healthy but it was difficult to do physically. Also the temperature was around 106 degrees!

The meeting location was easy to find. The guide Gabriel was great! He explained the history and how the canyon was formed. Used a simple demo. Answered all questions and very friendly. Took pictures of us for wonderful memories. Made this tour very enjoyable. He needs a raise. He went above and beyond in helping my wife. Highly recommend this tour. The only improvement is hand rails for the steps down. Thumbs up!!!
