I don’t have any suggestions for improvements. I enjoyed every aspect of the tour. We walked through an interesting part of the city and visited two great wine bars. The wine and food were excellent and varied, and reflected Veneto’s regional cuisine. Rachel was a very good host. She’s well informed, warm and a good conversationalist. She knows Padua very well and can see Veneto as both an insider and an outsider. Her good relationship with the wine bar staff made them very hospitable, which further enhanced a wonderful evening.

Excellent evening spent with Rachel. Sampled some fabulous wines and prosecco and some tasty nibbles. Rachel is passionate about her craft and we learnt so much!! A great introduction aswell to the history of Padua and some fab advice for what to see, places to go and where to eat and drink. We were so impressed we hope to take a further tour with Rachel when we return with family. Highly recommended!! Thank you.

Full description

Discover the taste of Padua on this wine tasting tour of the city. On foot you’ll visit two different enoteche (wine bars), set in authentic areas of Padua. In each your personal sommelier will select two quality wines for you to taste, each paired with small Venetian appetizers, called cicchetti. During the tour, you’ll learn about the most important aspects of Italian wine production and its role in Italian culture. Your guide will be happy to focus on any particular wine topic that interests you, including history, tasting guidelines, or quality standards. The classic wine tasting includes 4 glasses of wine from the Tri-Veneto area (the area formerly ruled by the Venetian Republic). Examples of the quality wines you’ll taste are Prosecco and Tocai (white wines), and Refosco and Ripasso della Valpolicella (red wines).

  • We will do our best to satisfy any particular request, such as specific wine or producer or restaurant.
  • These are the prices for wine tasting in Venice. Please contact us for the costs in different Veneto areas.
  • There is the possibility to upgrade your wine tasting to the premium level wines. Examples of these prestigious wines are Franciacorta and Gewurtzraminer (white wines), and Brunello di Montalcino and Amarone (red wines). Again, these selections may be modified if necessary.

Mario, a trained Italian sommelier, was a personable and knowledgeable Padua wine tour guide. We went to two different wine bars — one young/hip, one refined/subdued. The two hours flew by — it was a highlight of our trip!
