What people are saying about Paarl
If your main focus is drinking wine, we can only recommend you this wine tasting tour! In total you get to taste at least 22 different wines in 4 different estates. Tania is a great tour guide and we enjoyed our time to the fullest. She was very knowledgeable and super fun! If you want to see more of the regions as well, then you probably need to book another one with less visits. As you get tastings on 4 vineyards, you drive from tasting to tasting, but don't really have much time to spend to see the villages. We addressed already that we would not go back to one of the estates as none of our group enjoyed their wine, but we also understand that everyone's taste is different. The place although is absolutely beautiful!
The guide/driver was friendly, helpful and cared for the group. We've managed to do wine tastings in three different estates in Stellenbosch and Franchhoek and also some short walks around these towns. Some improvement suggestions: - the guide's English was at times really hard to understand and hence often did not bring any knowledge about the area - a 30-mins walk in Stellenbosch definitely not enough - the wine tram might be dropped from the itinerary, nothing to be seen there which can't be seen from the van - a longer walk in one of the vineyards would be nice, all we did was just walk in/out and tasting
Amazing tour and amazing tour guide - Theunis. Perfectly organized, well chosen wineries, majestic landscapes, beautiful gardens and delicious wine and lunch. But this tour wouldn't be the same without Theunis - the great music he chose on our ride, his knowledge and professionalism - all that made an unfortgettable day. Thank you Theunis :-)
I had a nice day andnhad the chance to have some company while travelling alone. Wines were fine while quality of explanations in the wine places was diverse, food in every place would have been nice since you taste several wines. Tour guide offered an enormous ammount of information about different aspects along the journey which was lovely.
About the wine tasting, it lack a lot of information about how to taste it, and about the production process. The first place gave much more info, second and third place lack of information. The lady that guided the last wine tasted had a rude manner witch we all in the group comment it was not a nice experience.
