Embark on a self-guided treasure hunt for a fun and unique way to explore Oxford. Captain Bess will send messages to your phones. She’s a snarky pirate who’s testing out new recruits to join her ship. She’ll direct you on a carefully designed route through the city. Follow the treasure maps to get to the right place, then try to decipher the clue. Search high and low for the answer. You’ll spot things you’d never normally notice. And don’t worry, if you get stuck you can ask for a hint to help you on your way. Start at the castle mound and sneak through ancient alleyways, passing ancient colleges and magnificent squares. Learn some interesting facts and stories along the way about the things you’re spotting and get a better understanding of the history of Oxford. Feeling adventurous? Get ready to explore Oxford and have loads of fun!

We enjoyed doing the treasure trail. However I personally would have preferred a written copy rather than having all the clues online which meant only using my phone. This I found stressful as I could see my battery running low. It also took us much longer than we anticipated - partially due to it being VERY HOT.

We had so much fun. Two adults and a 12 year old daughter played. We also stopped off and did what we wanted to do on. The way round. The clues were not hugely difficult. It kept up occupied for 5. 5 hours. This is because we had a little stop in a few pubs on our way round. Thank you and welldone. Xxx

As a tourist from outside of the UK, our connection to the local internet/data supply is based on mostly coffee shops/restaurants/pubs that are willing to give it for free. I did the treasure hunt in Glasgow which was better as it was paper based
