Jo was our fabulous driver and guide. She gave us lots of background information about the Cotswalds along the way and shared lots of interesting stories that we wouldn't have found out ourselves. We stopped at all the lovely towns mentioned on the itinerary. Some were quite busy, but we were travelling in the Christmas tourist season. Although Jo said it gets even busier during the warmer weather! Even though it was a cold Winter's day, we were so lucky that the sun was shining! When we arrived in the towns, Jo ensured to tell us what we should see. We had a mulled wine in one of the oldest pubs in England and then stopped for lunch later in the day where it wasn't as busy. We all had a lovely day, although I think it would be better during other times of the year.

Full description

Discover quaint villages, tiny tea rooms, and 15th-century ruins on a day trip to the Cotswolds from Oxford. Explore Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, and more unusually named places. Admire the scenery as you drive through the pretty countryside to picturesque villages. Departing from outside Oxford Railway Station in the morning at 10:00 AM, head to the village of Great Tew. Continue to Stow-on-the-Wold to reach the highest town in the region and browse the honey-colored buildings and tiny tea rooms. Visit the pretty village of Lower Slaughter before going to Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the "Venice of the Cotswolds", where you will have time for lunch. After lunch, discover the gateway to the Cotswolds in the village of Burford. Journey through the valley of the River Windrush and discover amazing villages such as Swinbrook along with the ruins of 15th-century Minster Lovell Hall. Departure will be late afternoon, returning to Oxford Railway Station by 5:00 PM

Meeting point

Your driver guide will meet you in the pick up area outside the front of Oxford Railway Station at 10am. Waiting is not allowed in the pick up area so they will arrive 5 minutes before the tour starts and will be standing with the Mercedes minibus holding a green sign saying Undiscovered Cotswolds. The pick up area is directly in front of the train station just past the bus stops and close to the bronze bull statue.

Jo was our driver and tour guide, and we could not have asked for anyone better! She was hilarious and shared such a deep knowledge of the Cotswolds. She was such an incredibly lovely person to be around for the day, and you can tell that she has such a passion for knowledge and sharing it with others.
