8.00 AM we will pick you up & we will be driven in an air-conditioned vehicle to Rabat, the present capital of the kingdom of Morocco.
Start our city tour at Dar El-Makhzen (Royal Palace) where we’ll see the palace from outside. This palace goes back to 1864 & presently houses more than 2000 people: inside are the prime minister’s offices, imperial college, Ahl Fas Mosque, a small clean race track, and barracks of the Black Guard. We are moving to see also Mohamed-V University, Morocco’s largest university.
Then, we will stroll past Hassan Tower & visit the Mohamed-V Mausoleum. Around 400 craftsmen were employed to build this mausoleum. The entrance leads into a burial chamber whose walls are decorated with Zellige, stucco and have an excellent cupola covered in attractive gold leaf.
Next, we will go to Kasbah of Oudayas Square, where you will see the Oudaya gate on the northern side.
later on we will visit the "Rue des Consuls", the architecturally most interesting street in the Medina. Finally we will go to Souika Street, the busiest shopping street in the Medina of Rabat.
The tour ends with a transfer back to your hotel/Riad in Fez.
