We had a great day. Ricky picked us up at the hotel right on time and took us numerous interesting places. We enjoyed the snack stop where we learned about the special cookies and enjoyed some with hot chocolate. We also learned about some special local art. We stopped briefly at a middle of the Earth museum for an explanation. We had a short hike at the crater lake and also at a waterfall. We had a short stop in a town that sold nice leather goods. We had a longer stop in Otavalo to shop and have lunch. Ricky was a careful driver with a comfortable, clean car and was a pleasant and knowledgeable driver. We enjoyed the day and would recommend the tour.

Our guide Pedro and driver Jimmy looked after us from the moment they opened the car doors. The tour gives you a really good idea of the often spectacular landscape outside Quito with Pedro explaining things produced in each area. The first stop at the biscuit making/coffee shop is actually on the original tourist equator line monument, which was a bonus. We were able to tailor how much time we spent at the market, which was good. Entry up into the national park and a walk around the volcano was great for fresh air, quiet and nature.

What an excellent trip! Very much loved the whole itinerary and the knowledge of our guide - from going to the amazing equatorial site/agave garden to learning about bizcochos baking and agave uses in medicine, food, and art to visiting the markets, national park and excellent lunch and conversations. This trip was a wonderful way to learn about some of the culture, nature, and specialties of Ecuador and is a must-do.
