Full description
Visit the main attractions of the Imbabura Province in just 8 hours with this all-encompassing tour. Departing from Quito, head north, making a stop at the San Pablo Lake viewpoint to admire panoramic views of the Imbabura volcano. You will also have the opportunity to sample some traditional local snacks from the area here. Next, continue towards Otavalo, where you can visit the largest indigenous market in South America. Do some souvenir shopping or simply admire the stalls selling everything from paintings to traditional ponchos. Break for lunch at the market, where you have a wide variety of dining options. Finally, head to your final stop, the Laguna Cuicocha. Spend some time admiring this 3-kilometer wide crater lake. Stroll around its outskirts and witness the two guinea pig-like islands in the center which give the lake its name (cuicocha means lake of the guinea pigs in the Kiwcha language). At the end of your tour, get dropped off back at your hotel in Quito.

We wish this trip would have been more structured. It was like having a driver that just dropped us off at different places - not a tour guide that showed us around, explained things, etc. This tour should also have a pre-selected place for lunch - we had to walk around town to find a place to eat and everything was closed or full. When we finally found a place with an empty table, we only had 10 minutes left to eat.
