Swim and snorkel with one of the sea's most gentle creatures, the endangered Florida manatee. Visit beautiful Homosassa State Wildlife Park, and take an exhilarating airboat ride. This tour is an ideal opportunity for anyone seeking to escape Florida's predictable theme parks. Head to the picturesque Crystal River – home to the endangered “gentle giant of the sea,” the Florida manatee – where you can choose to snorkel or swim. If you are lucky, you may even get to interact with these beautiful creatures. At the very least, the boat excursion provides stunning, peaceful views of the natural Florida surroundings. After lunch, you'll enjoy a fully narrated airboat ride. You can also learn more about this southern state's wildlife from the knowledgeable tour guide. • Swimwear
  • Change of clothes
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen

Know before you go

  • Don't forget your cameras, swimwear, towels, sunscreen, and cash for any souvenirs, wet suit rental, drinks, and optional photo packages
  • Crystal River is lucky to have a group of approximately 80 manatees that stay all year round. During the colder months, an additional 300 more join them. The constant 72-degree (F) temperature of the spring-fed river and abundance of underwater plant life make it the perfect habitat for the manatees.
  • The manatees in Crystal River are wild animals and, as such, you are not guaranteed interaction. However, your expert tour guides will do everything they can to make this happen.

Great experience to explore outside of the theme park locations to see the big friendly giants of the sea. I appreciate that the tour company waited for me when I was lost trying to find the pick up location in the morning, a very relaxing ride with our food provided leaving us to focus on the experience without having to run around organizing everything. I also appreciated the effort of the staff on the boat tour to try and find us manatees which unfortunately were not easy to find due to the unusually warm weather in February. The Homosassa Wildlife Park was a lovely experience and very easy to navigate around with an array of animals and bird life. The airboat ride was a fantastic finish as I had not been on one before and we were right up the front where the driver gave us a good spray of water! Overall great experience, thank you to all parties involved that made it a great day.

Great experience with very nice guides

This day tour is worthwhile for everyone. Swimming with manatees (without fins due to the risk of injury to the animals) was beautiful and very fresh, so taking a shorty for $ 10 definitely makes sense! If there is a long neo, take it. If all of the fins were on, you would not have seen anything in seconds. There are always a lot of people who can't swim well. We were there in May 2018. Then we went to a kind of sanctuary for animals such as eagles, manatees, aligators etc. The last station was an airboat tour through the swamps, here we saw aligators, small turtles, baby aligators, an osprey and a really beautiful landscape! All in all, beautiful! The only small drawback was the food, but it was ok.
