Full description
Get picked up at your accommodation or at the designated meeting location and have a private tour guide take you through the Willamette Valley. Walk the farm at your first stop at TMK Creamery and see the art of cheese making. Learn about modern agriculture, the milking process, feeding, and cow nutrition. Then sit down for a chance to sample their local cheeses and vodka. Next, it's time to load up in the tour van and head out to Middle Ground Farms. Walk a culinary vegetable garden that provides stock for the farm's kitchen. Meet the family’s 25 laying hens and a small herd of Nubian dairy goats. Then enjoy a mouth-watering boxed lunch filled with ingredients from the garden. Continue to make your way through the valley to Durant Olive Mill. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the olive mill to learn about the making of different olive oils from basil to rosemary. Take in the views as you sit down for a sampling of four olive oils paired with local vineyard wines. End your day with a quick stop at Briar Rose Creamery to finish up the tour with some handmade artisan cheeses. Depending on the season and availability, stops are subject to change.
