What to Expect
Enjoy a scenic 3.5-hour tour of the Columbia River Gorge waterfalls, visiting both National Park information centers in the gorge. Tour the renowned Multnomah Falls, and admire many other waterfalls along the way.
The great ice age Lake Missoula Flood left scars from Montana to the Pacific Ocean. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city to explore the waterfalls of this picturesque landscape, while guides share research that uncovers the effects of the Lake Missoula Flood in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington.
The catastrophic flood propelled over 500 cubic miles of water, ice, rock, and mud across Eastern Washington, and covered the Willamette Valley with up to 400 feet of water to leave gravel bars a mile wide and hundreds of feet high. Guides will show you many of the signs still visible today.
The waterfalls you will visit can alter from tour to tour, but include Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Multnomah Falls, and Horse Tail Falls, as well as the Portland Women’s Forum, Crown Point Vista House, and Bonneville Dam; a complex of several dams that span the Columbia River.
