It's a must if you want to see the palace! My family and I made it a day trip. It was a 30 min drive from Paris. Make sure to line up early because even if you have your tickets the line was still long. The audio guide came in handy and it was nice to learn the history. Make sure you use comfortable walking shoes since you are going to walking throughout the whole estate. Once you enter the gardens there are restaurants and they have really good food. Also if you want to splurge and a bit lazy to walk they offer golf cart and bike rentals to get around! Overall it was a great experience and it's a must!

With children aged 8 and 10, plan time to do the gardens (long journeys between places, pee breaks, lunch breaks, and children who drag their paws at some point). The visit to the castle was long for my children, they quickly dropped out despite the children's audio guide.

The climb up to the top was so much easier than we expected! There wasn't as many steps as we originally thought there might of been. There is a lift that people could use at an extra cost. The views were absolutely stunning and even better at night with all the lights

Our guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable. She made an effort to make sure we were comfortable. Took stops in any shops we wanted. She was very nice and totally caters to what you want to do.

Super crowded day, but the guide was able to juggle it very well.
