And then the exploration will continue in the silence of the old market squares, between fountains, wash houses and tower houses. Finally, we will arrive in the political and religious heart of the city: Piazza Vecchia, with its places of power, and Piazza Duomo, with its three churches (the Cathedral of Saint Alexander, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major and the Colleoni Chapel). An ancient city whose origins date back over 3,200 years ago, Brescia has a conspicuous artistic and architectural heritage: its monuments from the Roman and Longobard periods have been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Active in the manufacturing, engineering, textile, chemical and food industries, it is one of the main economic-productive centers of Italy and is known for the famous Mille Miglia vintage car race and for the production of Franciacorta. In the early afternoon, we will discover Bergamo, an ancient city where Celts, Longobards and Romans have ruled the hill over the centuries, but the most significant period is the domination of the Venetian Republic which lasted 4 centuries. At the time Venice and Bergamo were strongly linked both from a historical and cultural point of view. The guided tour will start in Piazza Vecchia, the heart of the ancient city and continue among historical and religious monuments including the Palazzo del Comune, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Cathedral, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colleoni Chapel and the Baptistery.

The appointment is in Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe (Funicular stop) in the Upper Town of Bergamo. From there we can move towards the marvelous Rocca park for a magnificent view of the upper city, or towards Porta San Giacomo or towards Piazza Vecchia. We can paint whatever we want, not just realistic. I will guide you step by step in the realization of your painting, from the initial sketch to the final details. In about two hours I will provide you with the rules for creating a good composition - from the rule of thirds to the balance of empty and full spaces - and I will explain to you step by step how to mix and apply colors and how to bring what you see onto the canvas. We will paint on small wooden panels with acrylic paints that dry quickly: at the end of the experience, you can take your work home as a souvenir!
