Quebec City: Ice Canoeing with Hot Chocolate & Sauna

Discover the magic of St Lawrence River as your winter playground on an ice canoeing experience. Perfect for first-timers, this all-inclusive activity is a great introduction to the historical role of ice canoeing in Quebec. Your experience begins near the boat ramp located around a 15-minute drive from downtown Quebec City. On arrival, you will be greeted warmly by your guide. Hear about the ice canoe’s historical role in maritime connections on the Saint-Lawrence. Suit up in your specialized equipment, learn the basic techniques, and go over the safety instructions. With the briefing out of the way, head toward the river. Each route is adapted according to the current weather conditions and tides. Canoers (that’s you) will have the opportunity to try both the oars and the crampons (aka “scooters”). Pause around half-way to walk on the ice, sip hot chocolate, enjoy a snack, and take a few selfies. You will be alone with your small-group on the river with a view that will leave you even more breathless than the actual ice canoeing. Then, return to the mainland so you can warm up and debrief. Your guide will be equipped with a GoPro camera to capture photos and videos of your activity along the way. Your photos and videos will be shared with you after your outing. Your unique experience continues when you return to earth. Take advantage of our lounge area and our magnificent Nordic sauna. Nestled on the banks of the St. Lawrence, it offers warmth and comfort after your activity, as well as a panoramic view. A unique, original, safe and fun experience!

Quebec City: Historic District Walking Tour (3h)

Quebec City: Historic District Walking Tour (3h)

This tour will show you the most important parts of the Historic District of Old Quebec, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1985. Starting with the first nations, we'll go through the history of the city with the arrival of the first French settlers, the creation of the Royal colony of New France, the emergence of Quebec City as capital of British North America, the creation of the Dominion of Canada, leading to the contemporary era. Almost 500 years of history! Having studied and work for almost 15 years inside the old city walls, I'll take you to see hidden gems off the normal tourist path. You'll understand why the "Quartier latin" is my favourite area of the city. Of course, I'll give you great recommendation for food, but I'll also warn you all the tourist traps you should always avoid, such as a terrible restaurant that serves a "rosé" mixing red and white wines leftovers…!

Simply amazing from start to finish. My husband and I walked to the site thinking we'd encounter some cafes along our 3 mile route...not so much and when we arrived cold and hungry we were met with an offer of leftovers, drinks and even a charger for my dead phone. The trip itself is a must. The feeling of floating down the seaway on a giant ice shelf is incredible. We are planning to comeback next year with our 4 adult children! A truly memorable experience!

Our tour was excellent! Our professional tour guide, Robert, is a homegrown Québécois who is very knowledgeable about the history of the city, and his own experiences in the city from back in the 60s added a more personal touch to the tour. His food and experience recommendations are also on point. It was a cold walk today, but all worth it. 💯

Such a cool experience. The guides were so helpful and positive throughout the entire process. Once in a lifetime opportunity- so glad we did it!

Amazing tour! Felt very safe with the instruction from the guides. A must do in Quebec City
