5. 2 Nights Okavango Delta Mokoro
On Day 1, we start the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Maun during the morning, typically around 09:00h (other times available upon request). We commence the adventure with a 1-hour speedboat cruise to the Buffalo Fence. Depending on dry season or other circumstances, we may use a 4×4 vehicle for transportation. At the buffalo fence, you will meet your experienced poler, who will lead you on an unforgettable journey through the captivating channels of the Okavango. Our polers and guides, who were born and raised in the Okavango Delta, are deeply passionate and knowledgeable about their home. They will show you the wonders of the Delta’s unique ecosystem. Travel deep into the water system aboard a traditional one-tree canoe known as a Mokoro and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of the Delta. For lunch, we’ll be waiting for you in camp on an island. After the meal, you can freshen up before embarking on an afternoon nature walk, where we hope to encounter more wildlife and learn about the plants, animals, and tribes that inhabit the region. We’ll return to camp for dinner, where you can gather around the campfire to share the stories of the day. Day 2: On Day 2, we continue to explore the Delta’s enchanting channels by Mokoro, accompanied by an experienced guide from a community trust. We’ll also embark on a guided bushwalk on the Delta’s islands. Your day starts with a warm “Dumela” (Setswana for Hello) and a light breakfast awaiting you. After coffee, tea, and breakfast, we begin our first gameviewing activity, either a nature walk or a canoe excursion. Upon returning to camp, you’ll have the opportunity to shower and relax before being served brunch. In the late afternoon, when the midday sun starts to set, we’ll engage in a second gameviewing activity. Our experienced bush chef will prepare delicious meals cooked over the bushfire, providing a delightful dining experience. As the evening unfolds, you can share your day’s experiences around the campfire before retiring to your comfortable tent, serenaded by the sounds of the wildlife and the bush. Day 3: On the last day of the tour, you’ll enjoy one final adventure with a Dug Out Canoe tour and a bushwalk before heading back to town. We’ll take a rest by the riverside for lunch. Before sunset, we will return to Maun, marking the end of an incredible journey through the Okavango Delta. This trip offers the best way to explore the wonders of the Delta!
