This was the most unforgettable experience. Anna was an unbelievable guide who educated us on the unique wine making in Santorini from the basket vineyards to wine tasting in Gavals and Venesantos Wineries. We walked through the village of Megalochori and discussed early Santorini history and village life. After wine tasting at Gavalas in the middle of the village, we were driven to an agricultural area where local tomatoes, eggplants and cucumbers are uniquely grown. We then had a cooking lesson making traditional fava dip, tomato fritters, Greek salad, and local cooked vegetables. Afterwards we sat outside eating what we cooked and drinking wine and dancing to Greek music with Petra (who owns the farm). Then we were driven to Vensantos Winery overlooking the Caldera with the stunning views. Anna made the tour so wonderful and we left with a hug. Tasso drove us back to our place and even stopped in Firá for a quick order of loukoumades. All in all, the most incredible tour.
This was a fantastic way to see Santorini! Our guide, Magdaleni, was so enthusiastic and made it a real joy. Highly recommend this as it was a small group of four and we had an amazing day!!
