Please wait 10 minutes before pick-up time outside on the main road of the pickup point or accommodation. We will provide your valid pickup time via WhatsApp within 24 hours! Full description

The aesthetic mountain of Galica functions as a separator that divides the 2 lakes of Ohrid and Prespa. Because of the attractiveness and the size, this piece of nature is recognized as one of the Natural Parks of North Macedonia. The peak of the mountain, which is called Magaro, has a stunning altitude of 2254 meters.

After being brought to the starting point, the hike starts through the forest flanks of the Galicica mountains. You will experience the flora and fauna of this place accompanied with a mountain expert. During the walk, there are many opportunities to admire the amazing view over the Lake Ohrid, which at that moment, lies 500 meters below. The hike continues along 3 traditional mountain villages, where you will learn the stories about the survival of the inhabitants during the harshness of the cold winter.

After a walk of approximately 1.5 hour and crossed 3 km., you will be rewarded with a tasty lunch on the beach, which is only accessible by boat. So, bring some swimming clothes and towels!

Know before you go

  • Wear good hiking shoes, which are suitable for the mountains.
  • Bring swimming clothes and towel.
  • During warm weather it’s recommended to use sunscreen and bring enough drinking water.
  • NOTE: The hike will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • NOTE ll: If the weather is bad then the lunch will be held in a restaurant in the fishing village Pestani.

It was great and varied! The route led from one authentic village to another and the hike was very relaxed. Then we took the bus to the Bay of Bones, surrounded by beautiful scenery and emerald green water. Our guide kept answering our questions and told us a lot about life in the area. After the museum we took the boat to a beautiful beach with a restaurant and not many people. A fantastic tour if you want to see as much as possible in a short time. Recommended!
