Benefit from early morning pick-up at your hotel in Palenque, and drive to the ancient Mayan archaeological site of Bonampak, first seen by non-Mayans in 1946. Upon arrival, get 2 hours to explore the site and look at its famous murals. Enjoy a breakfast buffet on the road, and venture into the lush green rainforest of the Lacandon Jungle. Declared a natural monument on August 21, 1992, the forest extends over some 4,357 hectares and is still inhabited by the Lacandon Maya people. Encounter refreshing streams and marvel at the endemic flora and fauna of the dense countryside. Upon your departure from Bonampak, take a 30-minute drive towards the frontier town of Frontera Corozal. We begin the adventure at 5:30 am, after 1 hour in the van we stop to have buffet breakfast (included), we continued towards the Corozal border, to board the boat and navigate the impressive Usumacinta River for 1 hour to reach Yaxchilan, in the On a boat tour you could observe monkeys, birds and crocodiles. We will spend 2 hours in Yaxchilan, enough time to explore the complex and see the mysterious palace, temples and squares. At the end of the tour in Yaxchilan we returned to the Corozal border, there we would have lunch (included), made by people from the Chol ethnic community. Following the adventure we head to Lacanja to take a truck from the Lacandones (native people) and be able to enter Bonampak. We will spend 1 hour at the site, good time to visit the incredible authentic murals, which tell us a little of the history they lived ago. many years... Finally we return to Palenque, we will be arriving at the hotel at 8:30 pm.

These inscriptions tell the history of this ancient Mayan city and are an invaluable testimony of its culture. You will have time to explore the beauty of Yaxchilán and marvel at its rich history. After the visit, you will enjoy an included meal before continuing to the Bonampak Archaeological Zone . The name Bonampak means "painted walls" in Mayan, and this site is famous for its amazing, well-preserved rock paintings. After breakfast we move to the Za Tonina, which means “Large Stone Houses”, the heyday of this Mayan archaeological zone dates back to the end of the 6th century and the beginning of the 10th century AD so that around the year 900 it became the largest acropolis of Neolithic Mexico. The main one at the highest point of the complex, the highest in Mesoamerica. Among the most relevant sculptures found in Toniná are that of its last ruler: Tzots Choj and, recently, having 3 hours of visiting time, to fully enjoy the tour. To finish the trip we move to the city of San Cristobal and with the option of ending in Ocosingo, Chiapas.
