Berlin: Boat Tour on a Solar-Powered Catamaran

Berlin: Boat Tour on a Solar-Powered Catamaran

Experience Berlin on an environmentally friendly boat tour on the emission-free solar catamaran "Suncat 46" and glide silently on the Spree through the capital. The solar ship combines the exclusive ambience of a yacht with environmental friendliness. Let Berlin's highlights pass by in a relaxed way. The tour starts directly at the Oberbaumbrücke at the harbor of the Solarwaterworld AG, in Friedrichshain Kreuzberg or at the Fischerinsel/Historischer Hafen in Berlin Mitte. Experience the highlights of the cityscape in an exclusive atmosphere. On the approx. 2,5 h tour we pass all sights of the city that can be seen from the water and spoil you with information, drinks and snacks. We pass the imposing Oberbaum Bridge, glide past the world-famous East Side Gallery and head to our next and only stop at the historic harbor on Fischerinsel in the Nikolai Quarter. Immediately after that comes a highlight of the trip, the locking of the Suncat 46 through the Mühlendammschleuse. The next leg takes the solar ship further west down the Spree. Here, the world-famous cultural heritage Museum Island and the government district of Berlin with the Reichstag and the Federal Chancellery are revealed. Not much further, the main train station becomes visible, Berlin's architectural showpiece. The catamaran continues westward to the House of World Cultures, or as Berliners say: to the "pregnant oyster" there the ship turns around and travels the route back to the port of Solarwaterworld and then to Fischerinsel. There is no sound system on the ship, as is usual for city tours. You will learn everything worth knowing via audio guides. It is available in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian. No loud engine noise will disturb you while exploring Berlin by water. The Solar Catamaran is barrier-free.

Our guide was very friendly and provided interesting information during our ride through different parts of Berlin! Our car was a little bit tough too handle but apparently (and obviously) the clutch has been through a lot over the years. Overall, it was a great experience and absolutely to be recommended. Seeing numerous people on the side of the roads taking pictures of the convoy is also part of the experience.

This was so much fun! We were lucky to be the only ones who booked it that day, so we basically had Florian as our private guide. We learned a lot about the town, the canal, went through the locks, all the way to the Molecule Man and then to the Oberbaumbrücke. The guide is knowledgeable and very passionate about canoeing and Berlin. Highly recommend!

The tour was super nice, Florian was our guide and he was great at making sure we were all moving at a comfortable pace. He was also fantastic at providing new facts from the area that were new even to a group that has been living in Berlin for several years. Highly recommend! Thank you!!

Climate-friendly ship with comfortable seating all around and inside. Super friendly staff, would definitely go again! Next time I'll book directly with the provider.

Very knowledgeable guide, speaking in two languages throughout the tour. Very good knowledge of the city - a good way to get an overview of the key sights of Berlin.
