Full description
Get ready to discover some of the best places of Oaxaca State. Start with a visit to Santa Maria el Tule, home of one of the most extraordinary natural beauties including the  giant tree (The Tule Tree), with a height of 40 meters and a diameter of more than 50 meters. It is said it´s more than 2000 years old, which makes it perhaps one of the biggest and oldest living things in the world. You'll then make a little stop in the small town of Teotitlan del Valle, famous for its home-made textiles. One of the day's highlights will be a visit to Mitla, which in Nahuatl means "Place of the Dead". Mitla used to be a ceremonial center of the Zapotecs and it´s now famed for its outstanding mozaics on its walls, a unique style of decorating in Mesoamerica. You'll  continue the excursion with an adventurous ride to Hierve el Agua, where you'll have the chance to see the petrified waterfalls and take a refreshing dip into the mineral baths while enjoying the breathtaking landscape. Conclude the day in the most typical way; at a mezcal distillery. Learn about the traditional production process and you won´t leave before you have tasted Oaxaca´s sacred liquor.

Long day but an interesting set of varied experiences. Pick up was informed as 9.30 am but received a call at 9 saying that the driver is waiting outside, hurried out skipping breakfast only to stop all over town for other pickups and to be brought to the centre, finally starting only after 10 am. The guide spoke lot of spanish but gave rather shortened explanations in not so great English. The return was told as 5-6 pm put turned out to be 7.30. Besides these logistics, the day was otherwise alright. The mezcal tasting was good. The weaving demonstration at Teotitlan was good as well. Mitla was ok. Hierve del Agua was great but the guide had no clue of the walking route, we figured it out ourselves. The lunch stop is a buffet only place but there was a reasonable selection for vegetarians too.

First of all very good service. Everyone was very polite and helpful(driver & tour guide). The most interesting visit is the one on zapotecas' village where they show you, while giving useful details, how the make products like carpets and clothes etc. in a traditional way. They also sell in very good prices.

We booked very last minute but the tour organisers were very accommodating, getting in touch to confirm our pick up address and arrived directly on time. Our knowledgeable guide was called César, he spoke both Spanish and English and gave very informative explanations to statues or places we past in the bus as well as at the sites we visited. The weaving stop was not like some tours where they pressure you to buy things, it was just a pleasant option. We had a great host who explained the natural dyes used, where the wool is from and a weaving demonstration. We visited the petrified waterfall, the widest tree in the world, the temples and the Mezcal makers. We both really enjoyed it, it was really well organised and paced - thank you!
