Kibera slum is located in Nairobi, about 6.6 kilometres (4.1 miles) from the City Centre. It is the largest slum in Africa, and one of the largest in the world. We are a team of 4 local guides; ERICK, SAMUEL, BENTA and JACK. We were all born, raised and still live here in Kibera Community. We have first-hand insights into the authentic daily life in the Kibera neighborhood. This tour enables our guests to learn more about the local community's way of life and the history of Kibera slum. The income generated from the booking fees, helps us in paying school fees for orphans and vulnerable kids and funding many other social projects here in Kibera slum. We run a social impact tour business called OAC Kenya Tours (www.oackenya.weebly.com). It is a vehicle for positive change. Join us in our journey towards social impact, where every booking you make helps to uplift and support orphans and vulnerable children. 50% of the booking fees from this tour goes back to the community. We also run a non-profit called KCOOP Organization which was founded and registered in 2022. Our organization operates here in Kibera slums and in rural parts of Kenya. The programs of KCOOP Organization include; 1. After school Program 2. Education Program 3. Combating Child Hunger 4. Empowerment Through Arts and Sports 5. ITINERARY FOR THIS EXPERIENCE >This tour takes 3 hours, but we can make it longer or shorter depending on your interest. >The meeting point is inside PRESTIGE PLAZA SHOPPING MALL, Ngong Road. After meeting up, we then take a taxi to the first stop which is our office. This tour has 5 stops as follows; 1. Our Office We will first welcome you to our office here in the slum for more introductions & briefing about the entire experience. The office has free Wi-Fi 2. Home Visit The second stop which is the main stop is home Visit where we will welcome you inside one of the residential houses here in the slum to let you learn more about our way of life like how we get water, electricity, bathroom system, typical house size and so on. 3. Handicrafts Centre You will witness how locals recycle materials to make jewelry and other handmade items. 4. KCOOP Children's Centre We run this Children's Centre and it serves orphans and vulnerable kids. 5. CURIO SHOP Explore a variety of handmade African crafts and souvenirs—offered at fair, regular, transparent, and fixed prices. Every item is clearly marked with a price tag. No bargaining, no inflated prices—just honest value. Day 1: Unveiling Aberdare's Treasures (Depart Nairobi 9:00 AM) Optional: Enjoy a convenient pick-up from Naivasha (time may vary). Morning: Embark on a scenic drive from Nairobi, arriving at the Aberdare National Park through the Mutobio Gate. Midday: Immerse yourself in nature's beauty. Day 2: Wildlife Encounters & Scenic Farewell (Depart park afternoon) Morning: Rise and shine to the sounds of birdsong. Enjoy a refreshing breakfast at Reedbuck Campsite. Midday: Embark on a thrilling game drive in a customized vehicle. Explore the diverse landscapes of the park, searching for a wide variety of animals. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas, and a variety of antelope species like elands, kudus, and waterbucks. Optional: Take a refreshing dip at the picturesque Chania Falls, surrounded by lush vegetation (subject to water levels and park regulations). Afternoon: Savor a delightful lunch at a designated picnic spot within the park. Late Afternoon: Bid farewell to Aberdare National Park, carrying unforgettable memories and thrilling wildlife encounters. Enjoy a scenic drive back to Nairobi (drop-off) or Naivasha (optional).

DAY 1:NAIROBI- MT KENYA Drive to the North East of the equator which is 150km from Nairobi. Mount Kenya closest towns are Nanyuki and Karatina where the neighboring community grows tea and coffee. After arriving at the Sirimon gate, check in and begin the hike for 3 hours and 9km slowly as you view the beautiful Mount Kenya Sirimon forest with bamboo, heather zones and rock wood. The wildlife found in Mount Kenya Sirimon route are elephant, buffalos, birds, water bucks and giraffes. In about 3 hours you will be able to arrive at the 1st camp of Mt Kenya (Old Moses) Sirimon route 3320m. You may decide to walk around in the evening and see the surrounding peaks or relax in the camp. Dinner at the camp. DAY 2 : MT KENYA- NAIROBI Old Moses camp 3320m to 3700m (Mackinders valley rock junction) early in the morning after breakfast tests your individual fitness by hiking an average altitude of over 400. The vegetation cover in this altitude is giant groundsel and giant lobelia which forms part of equatorial forest mountain. Return back to the base of the mountain and drive back to Nairobi arriving in late afternoon.
