Full description

The Christkindlesmarkt has developed since the 16th century from the Kindleinsmarkt to today's tourist attraction visited by guests from all over the world. The tour tells entertaining stories about children's gift-giving days, the Barbie doll of the Middle Ages and Christmas specialties such as the Kaiserlein, the Rauschgoldengel and the "Zwetschgermoh". Above all, the diverse Christmas tastings, such as the finest Elisen gingerbread, steaming mulled wine and hearty bratwurst make the walk an experience for all the senses.

Our guide was great and the history he shared was fascinating but we only walked the perimeter of the market, standing most of the time looking at photos and listening to a history lesson. At the end we has bratwurst and Glühwein which was nice but we had to pay our own deposit on the mugs. I was expecting more of a history talk and tour through the market.
