Pico Areeiro: Start the tour in the magnificent Pico do Areeiro mountain at an altitude of 1818 meters. Ribeiro Frio: Here you will enjoy a small ( 40 - 45 minute) Levada Walk ( has a fee of 3€ per person, not included in the price ) to a beautiful viewpoint. If you are not a walking person, you can enjoy this stop to visit the Trout nursery. Santana: This stop is the bigger one. You can take advantage of this 1.5-hour stop for lunch and visit Santana village. Faial: At the Guindaste viewpoint you can admire the wonderful northeast coast view. Porto da Cruz: At this small village the stop is around 20 to 30 minutes. Here you can visit the North Mills Distillery and taste the local rum. Ponta São Lourenço: The Ponta do Rosto is a must-see viewpoint. It's situated at the easiest part of the Island and gives you astonishing views over the North and South Madeira Sea and sometimes also of Porto Santo Island.

As we ascend to an altitude of 1,000 meters, we will be greeted by the invigorating scent of pine and fir trees, creating a magical atmosphere on the way to the Casa de Abrigo do Poiso, at 1,400 meters altitude. From Pico do Arieiro we will witness breathtaking views that will take our breath away before heading to the picturesque village of Ribeiro Frio, where we can enjoy a relaxing walk along the Levada dos Balcões (3€), immersed in the serenity of the Laurissilva Forest. This is an excellent opportunity for you to discover views you might have only seen in movies, valleys and mountains, that could not be any more perfect and our traditionally built Santana houses! And to make all this available to you, we will travel safe but super fun off roads! After our introduction we will be heading to Lombo da Quinta using the old fashioned side roads offering wonderful views to the Funchal harbour. An amazing opportunity to take some photos to remember. Then back to the Jeep, and to the Pico do Arieiro! One of the highest place of the island at 1818 meter above sea level, looking down to breath-taking valleys, forests, mountains, even Ponta do Sao Lourenco. Using off roads, we will visit our traditionally built Santana houses and have a tasty lunch. You can even try a Poncha before we make our way to Guindaste's glass platform view point! This tour will take 8 hours including pick up and drop off from and to your accommodation. Upon arrival we will have a short introduction and I will go through the plan of the day with you, to make sure it is customised to your interests as best as possible! During our tour I will take you to many different view points to the valleys and ocean and I will introduce the local flora and history! We will drive on narrow and off roads and have lots of fun!
