A gorgeous and serene area, the kayaking tour showed much more than just Glow Worms. While the Glow Worms were one of the shorter lived experiences for the evening, they were absolutely magical. Our tour guide Steve made a personalized experience for each of us and had lots to say about the history of the river area. This would be an easy experience for novice kayakers. We enjoy scenic experiences and felt that this was one of the better things we've done while exploring the North island. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
It was amazing! The crew was awesome and did a great job making everyone feel welcomed! It didn’t matter if you were an expert or an ocean newbie like me, they made you feel comfortable and did an excellent job explaining everything! On a side not we got extremely lucky and dolphins came while we were snorkeling and we got to swim with them! It was an amazing experience and one I’ll remember forever!
You have not got time to kayak and walk to the top but you can walk to the bird feeder. A suggestion would be to include a snorkelling option. Not appropriate to ask young females if they "like a shag"!! It would be appropriate to include a Ngati Toa karakia before leaving the shore. It was a great trip.
Attentive tour guide to cater for some more nervous than others. Nice touch with hot chocolate on boat on the way down. Fun to jump off cliff would have liked to do that more than once. Letting people change seats so more can try the front was good. Friendly atmosphere at the depot.
Exciting and a blast to experience. We absolutely loved this whitewater experience! Our guide, Jade, was the best at maneuvering the rapids after teaching his crew how to help too. The hot chocolate at the end of our trip rocked!
