We had a wonderful experience at Quinta da Portela de Baixo -- it was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip around Portugal. We were stuck on New Year's Day with our previously booked tour being canceled last minute, and had low hopes for finding a replacement on short notice. Knowing that we'd likely be out of luck elsewhere, they ran a tour just for us. The wine and snacks fantastic (and plentiful), and our guide was lovely. We would highly reccomend this tour for anyone visiting the Duoro.

We were a small group of 3. The Quinta is easily accessible with great scenery. The museum visit was very interesting (thanks to the brilliant Rui!). We tasted 3 wines and 3 ports, one of which was an incredibly special treat, each accompanied by a delicious small plate (highlights being their homemade jams and cheeses). We had plenty of time beyond the one hour of the booked tour and tasting experience (we ended up staying for over 2.5 hours and weren’t rushed). The atmosphere was great thanks to the amazing wines, location and the excellent customer service of Rui and Beatriz. This was definitely a highlight of our visit of the Douro region. No pressure to purchase but we loved their wines so much we bought some (very fairly priced) bottles.

We booked at the last minute, but were able to be accommodated. We were given a private tour, followed by an incredible tasting. It was supposed to be 5 different wines but we ended up getting two bonus glasses. On top of that, there was a generous snack with each wine served. We've been on a lot of wine tours and I have to say, this was one of the best ones we've ever done. I can't recommend this highly enough!
