3-hour Essence of Copenhagen E-bike Tour

On our Essence of Copenhagen Tour, you will experience the lesser known (but just as captivating) areas of Copenhagen not visited by the average tourist. This tour is designed to give a deeper understanding of the surrounding neighborhoods that make up the city, with an emphasis on “the Copenhagen way of life” and what that entails. We hope to give our guests a feeling of the essence of Copenhagen and an insight into what life in this city feels like for Copenhageners living in the city. To cover a good amount of distance, this tour will be conducted on our easy-to-ride e-bikes, which the group will get a demonstration of how works at the start of the tour. Having won several awards through the years as one of the most sustainable cities in the world, Copenhagen´s sustainability projects will be an ongoing theme throughout this tour. With the population of the city expected to grow by 20% in the next decade, we will explore how the city manages to accommodate this growth while remaining committed to reducing its overall CO2 emissions. Other ongoing themes throughout the tour will be evolving around the city´s architecture, design, urban planning and the concept of ´hygge´. As always, we encourage guests to ask as many questions as they would like during the tour, which our expert guides will do their best in answering. We look forward to seeing you on our Essence of Copenhagen Tour.

Copenhagen: Evening Gourmet Walk with Food & Drinks Tasting

Copenhagen: Evening Gourmet Walk with Food & Drinks Tasting

The Gourmet Evening Stroll is an excellent way to have a dinner experience in Copenhagen. It is a lighter and more relaxed tour than the Culinary Experience. There is also less walking as it is no more than 2-3 km/1.2-1.8 miles. We will start at Torvehallerne, the covered market halls. Here we will have a number of smaller tastings as a first course. We then visit a nearby gourmet restaurant for a fantastic fish main course and a glass of wine, and a chance to sit and relax and enjoy the mood of a Copenhagen summer night. Finally we end in the Downtown area, right next to Nørreport Station, with beer from a local craft beer bar. Along the way you will see how the people of Copenhagen themselves enjoy clear evening and shake off the dark and cold of winter. Tastings may vary according to season and supply.

Copenhagen: Nørrebro Neighborhood Tour

Copenhagen: Nørrebro Neighborhood Tour

Lovingly nicknamed ‘NørreBronx’ because of its past reputation as a rough district, Nørrebro is now one of the coolest and most densely populated areas in Denmark. Home to artists, foodies, and a host of quirky start-ups, alternative culture thrives here amongst the 55 nationalities that call Nørrebro home. After meeting you, we start walking in to Nørrebro to make our way to one of the most diverse parks in the world. Resembling a mini ’World Expo,’ the park does a cracking job of celebrating the diversity of the local population, displaying artwork and artifacts inspired by countries around the world. Inspiringly, many of the items on display were chosen by the community of Nørrebro as symbols of their heritage. We take time to explore a crashed airplane and have a go on the famous Japanese octopus slide as we traverse playgrounds, green spaces, and plenty of cycle paths to get a taste of how the Danes like to have fun! Copenhageners love to cycle and why not? The city is built for cyclists, with hundreds of kilometres of cycle lanes and a traffic light system that favours two wheels. Nørrebro is blissfully traffic-free and we get a feel for the city’s proud cycling culture as we pound the pedestrianised streets of the district. No tour in Copenhagen is complete without a nod to its gloriously exciting and progressive food scene. We don’t want to spoil the surprise but we make a stop for a very special treat, to keep those energy levels high. In short, make sure you bring your appetite for adventure as we indulge in this cultural exploration. We promise there are plenty of opportunities to see and find the hip, the quaint, and the unusual. Whether you’re buying a souvenir in one of the many quirky concept stores or you’re looking to discover inspiring and iconic works of art amongst the urban sprawl, Nørrebro has it covered. After admiring the cool innovation and versatile resourcefulness of the Danes, our tour ends on a historic note at the attractive Assistens Cemetery, home to one of Denmark’s most famous sons, Hans Christian Andersen, writer of your favourite fairytales. Copenhagen is a city of contrasts; experience them through the eyes of a local and get the most out of your stay in this exciting city.
