Wildlife and Scenic Viewpoints: As we travel through the Arctic landscape, keep an eye out for wildlife, including birds and reindeer, which freely roam the region. These majestic animals offer a unique glimpse into the untouched nature of the Arctic. ✔ Panoramic Ocean Viewpoint: We’ll stop at a scenic viewpoint with breath taking fjord views. This is your first chance to see the North Cape and the historic Hornvika, the original gateway to this famous destination. ✔ North Cape Visit: Upon arrival, you will have 1 to 1 hours of free time to explore at your own pace. Visit the iconic Globe Monument, take in the dramatic views from the cliffs, and explore the museum and movie theatre to learn more about the history and significance of this legendary site. Entrance to Nordkapphallen is not included but can be purchased on-site. ✔ Meet a Sami Family (Seasonal): If in season, we will visit a local Sami family, where you will learn about their traditional lifestyle and culture. Get a chance to see reindeer up close and hear stories about how the Sami people have lived in this region for generations. Please note: This part of the tour is only available when the reindeer have arrived. Final Stop in Honningsvåg: Before concluding the tour, we will stop at a preserved fishing facility near the harbour. Immersed in the mountain cliff awaits a spectacular panoramic film that takes you on a journey through four seasons in a landscape full of contrasts, light, and breathtaking scenery. The scenery offers stunning views of the mountain plateau and endless ocean. You will also find an exclusive gift shop, historical displays, a post office, the Thai Museum, and the St. John Chapel with its unique architecture. At the end of the journey, we bring you back to your ship in good time before its departure. In the alternative tour we travel to the open parts of this arctic island, visiting a fishing village, the Aurora Center where we will see the northern lights, and making a sightseeing in the town of Honningsvåg. There will be storytelling as we travel along. We get good feedback on this winter adventure. The alternative tour is optional and you decide if you want to join or not. If you choose to join the alternative tour, you will get a partial refund on your original ticket.

The tour starts in Honningsvåg. Our bus is waiting for you by the cruise pier, next to the tourist information. The ride across the island is beautiful, offering views of ocean, fjords and mountain scenery. After 30 minutes we arrive the fishing village of Gjesvær, a picturesque settlement with history stretching back to the Viking Era. Here we embark the boat that will take us to the Gjesværstappan Nature Reserve, 15 km west of the North Cape. We will be at the bird cliffs 10 minutes after departure from the pier. On the way you may use one of the arctic suits to insure a warm and comfortable experience. You can move freely onboard. We will address any question you might have. Even the captain is at your disposal. There are toilette facilities on the boat. As we sail around the bird islands you can observe one of Norway’s largest groups of puffins and kittiwakes. The puffins, easily recognisable by their colourful beak, nest in holes in the grassy hills. The nesting period, from April to September, teems with life in the air and on land. Majestic White-tailed Eagles can be seen hovering overhead as they hunt for prey. Guillemots, Razorbills, Cormorants, Arctic Skuas, Fulmars, and Gannets are also part of the flourishing life at the colony. After the boat excursion we return to the village before we travel back to Honningsvåg. We venture through rugged arctic scenery on our way to the North Cape, and will make photo stops along the way. If the Sami family are still awake we will pay them a visit and have a look at their reindeer. Finally at the North Cape we enter the North Cape Visitor center. You may enjoy a spectacular panoramic film, historical exhibitions and the cave of lights. You will also find a snackbar, a restaurant, an exclusive gift shop, a post office and a museum next to an ecumenical chapel. If the sun, the clouds and the sky allows it we will experience Midnight Sun at the North Cape. Regardless, the iconic globe, the North Cape visitor center and the majestic cliff is there to be explored. And just being there, at the northernmost of Europe, standing on the plateau of this famous cliff, overlooking the endeless ocean, facing north, knowing that this place was percieved as the end of the known world, is a truly an amazing experience. You get to enjoy spectacular scenery, and we will make view stops along the way.
