Journey from Avignon to learn about the Roman time. Discover the city of Nîmes : visit the Arenes with an audio-guide. Quick glance at the Maison Carrée, best preserved temple of the ancient Roman empire. Continue to Pont du Gard, one of the largest and best preserved aqueduct of the Roman period. (The museum is not included). Free time in the charming medieval town of Uzès : the Place aux Herbes square and the Fenestrelle tower. In Orange, discover one of the best preserved theater in the Roman empire. Photo stop at the Triumphal Arch.

  • Food and drinks (unless specified), additional entrance fees and gratuities (optional) are not included
  • For any booking with children, please advise the age.
  • Tours are operated for a minimum of 2 passengers, however bookings for solo travelers are accepted. If the solo traveler remains the only passenger booked for a departure, A La Française ! will contact the passenger the day before the tour in order to offer an alternative tour or date. We loved the trip, it was exiting to see these old buildings, and our guide was very well informed, nice and gave us very good tips on where to go when we had free time:-) I would recommend this to anybody interested in Roman times and impressive buildings. We choose it for Pont du Gard, but Usez and Nimes have made just as much an impression on us.

Fantastic day, even beating the morning downpours with umbrellas provided. Our guide/driver Emile was excellent, as he grew up in the area and was a wealth of knowledge. Even luckily managed to avoid most other tourist groups by being first to the sights we visited. Shame we couldn't spend longer at each site but time constraints apply to fit all in... Great anyway and many thanks to Emile... 👍

It was a great tour and Bastian our guide was really good. We had a trainee on our tour who was also really knowledgeable. It was a lot to see in a day and it felt a bit rushed in some stops. I also was disappointed we didn't get to see the Maison Carrée in Nimes. I think the only way to make this tour better would be to make the day longer with the same stops that way there is time.
