Full description

Discover medieval castles and charming towns as you tour the countryside around Nice. Visit Grasse and learn about the history of French perfume, explore the cobblestone streets of Saint Paul de Vence, and stop at the Gorges du Loup waterfall.

After pick up, you travel to the old town of Grasse, the historical center of French perfumery since the end of the 18th century. You will have the opportunity to visit Fragonard perfumery.

Continue on to Gourdon, one of the most beautiful perch villages of France, and admire a panoramic view of the Riviera from the Alps over the coast.

You will visit the castle, built in the 9th century, and its sumptuous garden, dissected by Lenotre. Enjoy a stop to visit the waterfall 40metres high in the Gorges du Loup. The next stop is the medieval village Tourette Sur Loup, settled on a rocky buttress, overhanging precipices. Also know as Cite des Violettes, this village became a meeting place for musicians, painters, writers, and poets in the middle of the 1920s.

Today more than thirty workshops and galleries make the village a place of high standing for art and craft on the Riviera. Your last destination will be Saint Paul de Vence, an extraordinary treasure of Provence that has over time become the garden of many painters.

LOVED our tour with Nordin. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. Seeing parts of Nice beyond the regular tourist attractions of the main part of town was a highlight of our trip. Wonderful, breathtaking vistas and incredibly quaint historic villages. We also really enjoyed our stop at the Fragonard perfumerie - it was so interesting learning about the process and we loved shopping for their beautiful products. Thank you Nordin for a wonderful experience, we appreciate your friendliness and excellent driving we felt very safe despite the narrow roads and high elevations.

We visited the lovely old hill top villages, and included the Fragonard Perfume factory museum experience. It was really enjoyable, and educational. Gourdon is very high, and as I dislike heights I was a bit worried. However, the village car park is safely cocooned, as is the short walk to the tiny village on the mountain peak. The view is sensational, I stayed away from the edge, and was fine. The drive up might be slightly worrisome for those who are afraid of heights, but you could shut your eyes. There were 4 in our trip, so we were collected in a regular saloon car. Our driver was friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, we were sent back to the hotel from the agreed meeting point, where we had to wait 3/4 hours - we only received this information via SMS shortly before the agreed appointment! In addition, nobody was there who spoke German (German was booked), only the factory tour could be visited in German. Instead of having a little more time in Grass, two other villages (although very beautiful, but too short a time) were visited, so that both the tour had to be canceled and there were only 15 minutes left for the visit to Grass!
