Full description
Explore Sainte Marguerite Island with a round-trip ferry transfer from Nice. Choose from multiple departure dates to suit your own schedule. Located about a half-mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes, the le Sainte-Marguerite is famous for its fortress prison (Fort Royal) in which the so-called “Man in the Iron Mask” was held in the 17th century. The ferries depart every day at 09:00 and return at 18:00, with a crossing time of around 1 hour. Once on the island, you can follow the marked trails that take you on a botanical and historical tour. Stroll by the Batéguier pond to see numerous species of migratory birds. Go to Point de la Convention to find unique plant species. Continue to the Fort Royal and explore the mysteries of the masked man. Pay a visit to the Maritime Museum sheltered within a fortified enclosure. Get an insight into the area's history and see items recovered from ancient Roman and Saracen shipwrecks. It was a good experience with my boyfriend, ferry perfectly on time, very well organized, sanitary measures are well respected! In addition, the staff were really very pleasant and warm. However, there is not much to do on the island once you have visited the fort and the museum of the sea. As a result, the 9am on the island did not go by very quickly. We still had a good walk, took advantage of the creeks, beaches and crystal clear water under a beautiful sun! If I had to do it again I would do it again, with a card game and rackets!

The island is very beautiful and idyllic. If you need a break from Nice, Cannes and Co. We found the 8/9 hour stay a bit long. 15 minutes before the landing in Nice it was no longer possible to go to the toilet on the ferry. That was a little inconvenient.

    Perfect for a day trip

8 hours is a long time. But it was beautiful, pure nature. The beach is full of dried seaweed. Special shoes are needed for the sea. Parasol is necessary. You can take it with you. You can eat well in a restaurant. The other was too far away. There is even a shower. But you have to find it first. If you feel like hiking, you can walk around for four hours. There is a beautiful lake. From 2 p.m. it gets full of people. A boat comes out of Cannes every half hour. Is not a luxury island. We love her
