Nice: Sightseeing Walking Tour

10. Nice: Sightseeing Walking Tour

The best way to explore a city is on foot. And the best way to discover the must-see places of a city is to have a competent local guide. Then come discover Nice la belle (Nissa la bella) as the locals say. It is one of the most visited cities in France, a title deserved since the city has a very particular history and geography that makes it a superb city both culturally and visually. Once a Greek counter and then a Gallo-Roman city, the city was once the only maritime gateway in the States of Savoy. Nice was then part of the Piedmont Sardinia kingdom until 1860, so the Nice region is one of the last to have joined France. There is also a very Mediterranean culinary culture mainly inspired by Provence and Italy. You certainly know the famous salad of Nice (without potato attention) or the pan bagnat, but don’t worry you still have a lot of Nice specialties to discover. We will of course visit the unmissable Old Nice with its narrow and colorful streets, these small baroque churches, its sumptuous palaces, its countless bars and restaurants, not to mention its art galleries, since Nice is a city of art and history listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2021. Of course we will not miss the French Copacabana, the Promenade des Anglais, a large maritime boulevard whose image is known worldwide. It is the very symbol of Nice. And the hill of the castle ideally placed at the seaside the hill offers a garden that is the favorite park of the Nice and tourists, its shady alleys and its multiple points of view allow to discover exceptional panoramas on the bay of angels, the city, the hills and the Prealps

Full marks Chris for a fascinating tour which you led with enthusiasm and much knowledge as a Nice born guide. The route was great and your commentary was excellent. We saw and learned far more from you about Nice, its culture, history and present-day activities than we could have done from guide books. The pace was perfect, as was the timing, such as to get us to the firing of the castle canon at noon. You had lots of anecdotes which helped us to get so much from our brief stay in your wonderful city. The tasty samples of pissaladière made by your mother were very much appreciated. Very many thanks, we have no hesitation in recommending your tour to others.

Really fun way to get oriented to Nice. Nicholas was a great guide. Went on the 2 hour tour with my 3 teen / adult kids. Glad we did this rather than the 1 hour tour, in think that would have been too short. The Segways were quite easy to ride after a few minutes and felt really comfortable by the end. The have a little bag on the front so you could put a small bag in there if you needed to. Enjoyed seeing the old town and riding through the small streets, then up the hill. Had already done a free walking tour but still enjoyed doing the Segway tour. Really recommend this experience.

Amazing Tour. Nathan was our guide and he was so kind and helpful. Very knowledgeable about Nice and Monaco. He let us stay for the last part of the tour as well (for a small fee) and that was equally as amazing. Highly recommend this tour if you're staying in Nice.

It was nice to be able to look around Nice on an electric bicycle through this tour. You are a wonderful Parisian.

The trip was amazing. Good timing with a cool guide Nathan.
