What to Expect
See the best of New York on a unique tour that is part walking tour and part subway ride, taking you from the quaint ambiance of Greenwich Village to the bustling commercial center of Columbus Circle, gateway to Central Park.

Begin at Washington Square Park, surrounded by the buildings of New York University. From jazz bands to pianists to solo guitar players, musicians flock to the park to perform. There are several important monuments here, as well historic architecture bordering the park.

Walk along Lower 5th Avenue’s Gold Coast to Union Square Park, often alive with the oldest Farmers Market in the city. Marvel at the monuments to George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette, before continuing to Madison Square Park, bordered by one of the city’s most uniquely shaped structures, the Flatiron Building.

Rest your feet as your ride the Broadway Local to Herald Square, across from Macy’s. An impressive monument to the publishers of the now-defunct New York Herald stands at the far end of the park. Walk along Broadway to see how the lower-rise buildings between Union and Madison Squares give way to the high-rise office towers of the 20th century. Continue to Times Square to discover the “Crossroads of the World.”

Times Square is the last of the 5 squares on your tour, and the only one without a park. Be dazzled by the bright lights and video displays at the heart of the Theater District as the traffic rushes by. Jump on the Red Line subway to Columbus Circle and see the monument to the famous explorer.

End at the southwest entrance to Central Park, distinguished by the grand memorial to the USS Maine on the Circle.
