Full description

Avoid wandering aimlessly around the extensive collections of Metropolitan Museum in New York with this guided tour. Discover the museum's hottest attractions with a carefully-planned itinerary that starts in Ancient Egypt.

View perfectly preserved Ancient Egyptian tombs, and tiny dioramas that show what life was like in the times of Tutankhamun. Learn about their burial rituals in the Egyptian mummies area, and see the Met’s mascot “William.”

Continue to the Temple of Dendur, and discover a temple of Ancient Egypt smack in the middle of Central Park. Hear gossip about this and other exhibits, such as how Jackie O procured the Temple of Dendur for the Met.

Be enthralled by tales about the armor of Britain’s infamous King Henry VIII and how some think the Antioch Chalice may be the Holy Grail. Admire ancient Greek statues and Roman frescoes, before moving to the exotic exhibits from Papua New Guinea.

Marvel at beautifully carved Bisj poles collected by a Rockefeller, at the cost of his life. Head to the 2nd floor to soak in some of Claude Monet’s dreamlike “Water Lillies.” Be energized by the expressive works of Vincent Van Gogh and inspired by a bronze of Rodin’s “Thinker.”

Our guide Kevin was just wonderful! I have been to the Met many times but without a guided tour. Kevin made everything so much more exciting and interesting! I learned so many things I never knew. I didn’t want tour to end! I would recommend this tour to anyone who loves art and history! Will definitely book again!

There’s no better way to experience the museum. Going through the rooms and pieces with an expert who can stop just at the right places and give you the backstory of them with such enthusiasm can’t get beaten. Kevin was our tour guide and is very knowledgeable and entertaining!

Our guide, Katie, was knowledgeable, friendly and truly attentive to her guests. With the guidance of Get Your Guide help desk even if we were 15 minutes late they connected with Katie who left our tickets at group check in and we were able to catch up and join the group! Katie was welcoming and had great insights of The Met which we would not have known on our own. I have a special needs child, so close to the end of our two hour he could not pay attention anymore, but Katie was very patient and accommodating. She still tried to get him engaged. Overall a 5 star experience despite mishaps we caused at our end!
