What People Are Saying About New York
It was a place I had flown over many times, but never had the opportunity to see it up close with a tour. This trip made that possible. It was amazing going into the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty and seeing the making of that great piece of artwork. Our guide, Cody, covering every bit of information he could share with us, did so in an interesting manner, he made learning history fun. He did the same for The Ellis Island Tour. What a building, and what it stood for , once inside, I had such an emotional feeling of all the vibrations left by the ancestors. Passing through there after a long journey, not knowing what awaits you, the uncertainty of their future and the courage and stamina it took to get there. They are the foundation of this great country. Thank God for them.
Tauren was a very good guide, very informative. I think my favourite part was the water fountains with the people's names around them. Love the little St Paul's Chapel too. When you see all the pictures and names of the victims it really brings it home how many people died in this terrible terrorist attack. Mans inhumanity to man!
An absolute highlight for us and would thoroughly recommend a guided tour. Rachel, our tour guide, was superb - funny, organised and very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend this trip but make sure you catch the early ferry - later ferries to the island looked extremely busy. You will want to add another 1.5 hours to the trip atleast, to get the most out of Ellis Island.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and we were able to see and learn a lot about the history of Grand Central Station. I enjoyed the photos of the station in the past but trying to look at them in a small size on an iPad while in a group of about 20 was not really workable. I would suggest enlarging them, printing them out and laminating them so that they could be passed around and everyone could see them clearly. I would certainly go on another of Ben's Bagel Tours. The fresh bagel was a nice touch.
The guide was excellent. He made the tour vivid and personal. The tour was very interesting. Ray was the best!
