Overview
Explore the “lungs” of New York on a fast-paced, 3-hour walking tour of Central Park. Let a native New Yorker show you the world’s greatest urban park and its numerous monuments, such as the secluded Shakespeare Garden, Sheep Meadow, and much more.
What to Expect
Discover New York City’s “crown jewel” on a brisk walking tour of some of Central Park’s 840 acres, trekking from Central Park South to Cleopatra’s Needle and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, then back to Columbus Circle!

Start at the General Sherman Monument, a popular gathering spot in Central Park, and who better than William Shakespeare to announce the start of the Literary Walk. Continue into The Mall, lined with a dazzling row of American Elm trees. Next, look behind Bethesda Plaza at the rowing boats on The Lake.

See the Alice in Wonderland sculpture, before taking a walk on the wild side through The Ramble. This takes you to Belvedere Castle, with sweeping views of the park. Admire the oldest manmade object in Central Park as you look at Cleopatra’s Needle behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Head west to the secluded Shakespeare Garden and Swedish Cottage. Then, it’s on to the hugely popular Strawberry Fields, a tribute to John Lennon, former resident of The Dakota, the nearby apartment building where he lived. Look at the façade of The Dakota, where Lennon lost his life, before going to Sheep Meadow and the Tavern on the Green, finishing line for the New York City Marathon.

Conclude your tour on the southwest corner of Central Park, at the U.S.S. Maine Memorial Monument in Columbus Circle.
