What to Expect
Discover world-famous Central Park the way it was meant to be explored – on foot. Avoid the large tour groups led by guides with flags and microphones. Instead, join fun, knowledgeable, and licensed guides for a small-group exploration of the park.

If you think Central Park is just a big famous park you can walk through, think again. On your own, you will miss a lot of the details and information that really make the park special. So get lost in the park for 3 hours, during which time you might just forget you are in the middle of New York City. As you wind along the park’s scenic paths, you’ll discover famous locations, as well as hidden gems. You’ll also learn a lot about the park’s development and evolution, the city’s growth around it, and what makes it so important and famous.

Along the way also visit the Imagine Memorial dedicated to John Lennon, and see and learn about the famous building where he lived – The Dakota Apartments. There is a lot to discover in this 843-acre park (like “where do those huge rocks come from?”). Some of the places you will visit include: The Mall, Bethesda Terrace, the Lake, Bow Bridge, Strawberry Fields, Shakespeare Garden, Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, and Delacorte Theater.

The 3-hour walking tour covers approximately 3 miles of walking, including several short walks uphill and a couple of staircases to climb and descend. There will be plenty of opportunities to sit down on the park benches while your guide tells you interesting stories.
