Our guide Ryan was brilliant! He took us to a variety of bars and we all became fast friends (cocktails helped 😂) he also sprinkled history in while we were outside and inside the bars and chatted to us while walking from place to place. Can’t recommend enough!

First, discover one of New York's iconic bars that traces its history back to the period of notorious gangsters and infamous bootleggers. At your second location, find out more about the catalysts that sparked Prohibition. Find out more about the women of the Gilded Age, and the movement that gave rise to an oil king. Finally, visit one of New York's most unique cocktail lounges where you will hear stories of the sudden and dramatic demise of Prohibition, and the resurgence of nightlife in the city in the following decades.

Meet on 8th Avenue between 49th Street and 50th Street outside the office building entrance of One Worldwide Plaza (825 Eighth Avenue). There is a bike rack in front of the building on 8th Avenue and a large American flag hanging from the building. The Carnegie Diner is visible on the opposite side of 8th Avenue. GPS and online maps may guide you to a side street, but the tour meets on 8th Avenue.
