Full description
Sip, Swirl. Taste. Gulp! Take a tipsy journey through the spirit trails of New York's underground watering holes. Your journey will feel like a discovery of hidden escapes from the hustle and bustle of midtown's tourism hub. Sure to be guided by one of the most exciting tour guides today, you'll be captivated by the rich history that has inspired your evening's libations. Walk with your guide as you retrace the immigrant progress toward the American Dream during Prohibition. You will be guided into one of New York's last-standing 1920s speakeasies and told the tale of the period’s most notorious gangsters and infamous bootleggers. At your second location, you'll explore the catalysts behind Prohibition and focus on the women of the Gilded Age, and the movement that gave rise to an oil king. To round off our journey together, we’ll take you to one of New York's oldest bars and former speakeasies where you'll hear the tale of the sudden demise of Prohibition.

A fantastic and educational tour, even long term visitors to NYC. Our guide Tim was knowledgeable and friendly and gave great advice. I feel very lucky to have had such a compatible group for an activity like this - the young fun couple on their honeymoon, and the two wild sister, plus Rory and Isaiah from the tour company who were shadowing Tim but also contributing to the fun. Highly recommended.

The tour was very interesting and fun. Our tour guide Teddy was very charming and answered all questions. The choice of constituents was also very nice. The only thing to complain about negatively is that drinks are not included. That means you have to reckon with around € 20 per person and per restaurant. So you end up with € 60 extra per person. Plus tip for the guide. I can understand that you cannot make all drinks inclusive. But I would prefer to pay more for the tour than to end up paying so much.
