Full description

Avoid wandering aimlessly around the extensive collections of Metropolitan Museum in New York with this guided tour. Discover the museum's hottest attractions with a carefully-planned itinerary that starts in Ancient Egypt.

View perfectly preserved Ancient Egyptian tombs, and tiny dioramas that show what life was like in the times of Tutankhamun. Learn about their burial rituals in the Egyptian mummies area, and see the Met’s mascot “William.”

Continue to the Temple of Dendur, and discover a temple of Ancient Egypt smack in the middle of Central Park. Hear gossip about this and other exhibits, such as how Jackie O procured the Temple of Dendur for the Met.

Be enthralled by tales about the armor of Britain’s infamous King Henry VIII and how some think the Antioch Chalice may be the Holy Grail. Admire ancient Greek statues and Roman frescoes, before moving to the exotic exhibits from Papua New Guinea.

Marvel at beautifully carved Bisj poles collected by a Rockefeller, at the cost of his life. Head to the 2nd floor to soak in some of Claude Monet’s dreamlike “Water Lillies.” Be energized by the expressive works of Vincent Van Gogh and inspired by a bronze of Rodin’s “Thinker.”

Awesome way to see highlights and stories of the Met when you’re on a time crunch. The Met is one of those places you could easily spend a whole day (and should, if you can!). However - only being in New York for 2.5 days - this tour meant we were able to see highlights of Egypt, America, some of the pottery and silver display, and some French Impressionism and get some excellent history and stories from those spaces. Kevin our guide was great - well-informed, happy to answer questions and really engaging.

We loved our tour of the Metropolitan Museum. Our guide, Phil, was extremely knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts and anecdotes with us. The Met is vast in size, and it was great to have a knowledgeable guide who could show us some of the highlights and bring them alive for us. I would highly recommend this tour. It was definitely one of the highlights of our long-awaited trip to New York. We went with our three adult children, all in their early 20s, and they also loved the tour.

unforgettable, once in a lifetime. The depth of knowledge of the tour guide, mix with the enchanting details of the curves of the marbles, pearl lighting exhibited by the painter, vibrant color of the painting, liveliness of the characters with its unbelievably soft silky gown, with touch of your imagination, will brings you back to time, explicitly depict the beauty of the art and history........as you've travelled through space and distance, to be right there.........and in time. Don't forget, to imagine the length of the time, detail in excellency, heart, mind, and soul pour into.......................and said to yourself Sooooooooooo Talented, sooooo talented, soooo talented. Next stop, DaVinci, Michelangelo, or the mesmerizing Venice, Italian French architectures. Is the Met bring in Mini Venice??? Thank you for all the effort to bring art to the public, lucky to be in NYC
